WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
After careful and thorough review, Sick Sideways is pleased to announce Mathhew Mair as the winner of the 2011 Sick Sideways driver shootout.
Mathew came to Sick Sideways and immediately fit into our team mold. He not only was good in the car (showing us he was able to be fast and adapt well to the car). He was very receptive to instruction from sick sideways instructors. He proved to us that he is a valuable team member not only in the car but very much out of the car as well. His overall appearance and representation of Sick Sideways could not have been better. We are excited to welcome Mathew to Sick Sideways. Congratulations and thank you to all participating drivers. Our competition was unbelievable close. All of our drivers displayed impressive skill and speed in the car, making this a very tough decision for all of us. |

Lucas Bize
Lucas started his career in racing with go-karting at age 11, inspired
by his older brother, Dennis. By age 13, he graduated to road racing.
His incredible talent and results prompted NASA to make an exception
to his age and allow him in competitions.
By age 14, Lucas started competing in Skip Barber MazdaChallenge. Now
in his second season, Lucas has 9 podium finishes, 3 of them firsts.
His progress over the last few months has been spectacular.
One day after his 15th birthday this past January, Lucas received his
SCCA national competition license, bypassing the usual SCCA
requirements, based on his track record. That same week, he ran in the
Sebring 6 hour enduro, where he qualified 2nd in class and was
consistently leading the race until his car suffered a major breakdown.
Lucas's experience includes various events racing BMW, MX5 and Spec
Miata race cars, and 2 enduros in January 2011.
Lucas is a freshman at Professional Children's School in New York,
which allows him to be away from school as necessary for racing events
and provides academic assistance while away.
